Gregory Go wrote a great article on how to advertise your work at home business through Forum Marketing. Here are some of the points he brought out:
1. Sign up for the top forums that relate to what you are marketing online and avoid the ones that are less popular(1,000 or more people is good) but not oversaturated with junk advertising.
2. Sign up emmediately so that you may establish yourself as a long standing member quickly.
3. Attempt to make your presentation as professional as possible by choosing an appropriate username. Then choose a photo that represents you. (children, pet, or anything dear to you.) Always remember to be professional. You will want to establish yourself well when you begin marketing your work from home service or product.
4. Observe the forum environment to get a better understanding of the most involved members, most common topics, and their routines. This will help you to ease into their community more effectively.
5. Present yourself. Most forums have a special section where new members can introduce themselves to everyone.
